Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) is a shrub that grows in all parts of United States & Canada. Topically anti~inflammatory, it can soothe irritations, chapped skin and can soften the skin. Different strains of the elder shrub have been used for centuries, for many uses, all over the world. Elder ointment was a traditional English remedy used to treat wounds, bruises, softening & soothing the skin.. All parts of the shrub are useful externally. It grows easily in any sunny, moist location, and provides food & shelter for wildlife as well. Used in our "Elderberry Meadow" soap, "Lavender Berry" soap, "Wild Rose" balm & "Rose" oil.
